The “UNFRAMED” collection is part of my “fraternal twins” vision of creating “phydigital” works & experiences. I want to be intentional about capturing & preserving what enhances the experience of physical work versus its digital twin counterpart, hence the concept of “2-of-1” works. The works contain organic material like dried flowers, which may change over time due to natural decay and/or aging process. Variations in colour, texture, or other visual features are inherent characteristics of the physical materials used, and do not constitute defects. On the other hand, the digital twin of each work allows me to elevate the mixed-media elements of the piece, while also deepening layers into it through different senses (like sound as opposed to touch).
