Rose: Queen of "bubblegum pop"
Rose grew up in a small suburban town where the main expectations placed on children are very traditional conventions—to go with the flow of existing norms. Rose was a major outlier, though still lovingly called the town’s “big sister.” Aery Central had the honour of joining Rose during her homecoming visit as part of her first break and celebration for signing onto AMG. “Rose is strict and disciplined for a lot of things, she keeps us in line,” her good friends shared. “But she’s also very down to earth, with an easy laugh and always has a gleam in her eyes that tell you she’s out for big things.” Her on-screen persona, though, she is a storm, forcing everyone’s attention on her.
Rose opened up about her internal conflict when she chose to go all in for her music career. “I love my family and my close friends from home, really, they are the center of my universe. But there’s also a great big world out there that I want to experience.” It’s not as if the young star had to pick one or the other, she eventually found her balance in experiencing the best of both worlds. “I had to face the fact that these two sides of me are both... me. That self assurance allowed me to keep my eyes wide open and facing the road ahead, knowing that walking towards my dreams doesn’t mean I am ‘leaving behind’ anyone or anything.”
Rarely can one speak of rising pop trends without talking about “Rose Bubblegum”, a term coined by Aery Central President GK when he first scouted Rose for her distinct, energetic pop style and openness to pushing lyrical and performative boundaries in music. Rose’s title song for her upcoming debut mini album, “Summertime Lightning”, was inspired by her personal life philosophy that “the fear of always being the same is greater than the fear of trying something new.” Her voice is a rare gem: it carries the flare of a torch song, bring down crashing waves into your soul with feather-like grace, while also channeling exquisite sweet pop beats. Announcements about the details for Rose’s mini album have yet to be disclosed.
