candy bites
bites on my skin, yours.
sugar on your lips, mine.
you told me you wanted me
whole.
Said I tasted like
candy bars, your favorite,
peanut butter crunch,
a touch of Hawaiian salt
and I melted at your touch—
but you told me I held you down
so I gave you me,
whole.
because you needed something
cold, to tame the flames in your heart;
sweet, to drown the bitterness of life.
You told me I weighed you down.
then you dropped me, or rather, you let me
fall—
guzzled down like your favourite candy bar.
(but if you ever asked, I would have given you another taste)
